Serving South Texas

Justice Clarissa Silva’s story begins in Harlingen, Texas, where she was born and raised. Her roots in South Texas shaped the values that continue to guide her today: faith, family, hard work, humility, and service to others.

Growing up, Justice Silva’s family taught her the importance of helping people without expecting anything in return. That lesson became a foundation for her career in law and public service. As the first in her family to graduate from college and law school, she understands the importance of opportunity, perseverance, and responsibility.

Justice Silva chose a legal career where she could make a meaningful impact. Her work has included service to children, families, crime victims, and vulnerable Texans. She began her legal career with the Nueces County District Attorney’s Office, handling juvenile matters and cases involving abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the disabled and elderly. Later, she represented the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services through the San Patricio County Attorney’s Office.

In 2020, voters elected Justice Silva to the Thirteenth Court of Appeals, where she now reviews civil and criminal cases from twenty South Texas counties. Her work on the court reflects a deep respect for the communities she serves and the responsibility that comes with judicial office.

Serving South Texas means understanding the people, values, and communities that make this region strong. It means approaching public service with humility and treating every case with the seriousness it deserves.
